At the onset, they thought they could succeed on the pure merits of their ‘marketplace’ privatization scheme originally put forth by private voucher guru Milton Friedman, the renowned economics professor at University of Chicago . However, the movers and shakers pushing private vouchers and charter schools realized the inherent difficulties playing real competitive capitalism.
