Retailers propose logo to make recycling easier

“Recycling of packaging in Britain could soon become much easier as the British Retail Consortium and the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) have developed a standard series of logos to help consumers identify the likelihood that products will be recycled. Three different symbols would be used as part of the system: one for ‘widely recyclable’ items (more than 65 percent of authorities will collect it), one for ‘check locally’ items (20-65 percent) and one for ‘not currently recycled’ items (less than 20 percent).” (11/29/07)
