“Thousands more working, uninsured Tennesseans will qualify for government health coverage with an expansion of CoverTN. As of Jan. 1, people earning $43,000 or less whose employers don’t offer insurance will qualify, as will some businesses that employ 50 or fewer people and meet other guidelines. Previously, the program was open to businesses with 25 employees or less. About 13,000 Tennesseans are on CoverTN, which was launched in April. Administrators have said they want to see that figure rise to 100,000 by 2010 in a gradual phase-in of benefits. There are no precise numbers of how many could be covered in the latest phase.” (12/02/07)
