Union pact won’t fix EBR schools

“Save the children, not the bureaucracy. I sympathize with the terrible conditions of poor discipline, poor leadership and inadequate pay that teachers have to face in East Baton Rouge’s public schools. Several letters from teachers’ union leaders or members recently have suggested collective bargaining would somehow fix these problems. The problems listed are examples of poor management. Collective bargaining does not improve management: if it did, Ford and Chrysler would not be nearly bankrupt.” (12/01/07)
