“The state is expanding its CoverTN program at a rate that should not satisfy anybody, state officials included. That said, the program was set up as a modest start toward an important goal, and modest improvements are a good sign. Whatever momentum exists should continue. State officials have announced moderate expansion of the CoverTN program. CoverTN is one of four components of the Bredesen administration’s Cover Tennessee plan, the others being CoverKids, AccessTN for those considered uninsurable and CoverRx for help on prescriptions. CoverTN was created in an attempt to make healthcare coverage more accessible to people who live on limited income working for small businesses.” (01/31/08)
