“‘Let sleeping dogs lie,’ or perhaps ’stop beating a dead horse.’ Those old sayings could well apply to the Poudre School District Board of Education’s split decision Tuesday to apply for exclusive chartering authority from the state. For three consecutive years, the PSD board has applied for exclusive chartering authority through the Colorado Charter School Institute and been rejected with little explanation as to why. There has been no indication that a fourth attempt would be any different. Recognizing such realities, Superintendent Jerry Wilson recommended that PSD not pursue the authority this year.” (02/28/08)
