“I don’t know when or why or how the issue of keeping Wisconsin’s public ‘virtual’ charter schools open became caught up in the partisanship of the Capitol. But I sure hope the members of the state Assembly follow the lead of Sen. Jon Erpenbach and not those of his fellow Democrats in the Senate who reneged on their promises and attached a poison pill ‘lockout’ amendment to the previously praised bipartisan compromise. I again attended an Assembly hearing Monday to urge lawmakers to consider the reality facing these children, and not the political intrigue surrounding the partisan power politics at play here.” (02/28/08)
