“On Air America tonight Ron Reagan had an interesting interview with single-payer health insurance advocate and Co-President of the California Nurses Association and National Nurses Organizing Committee, Geri Jenkins. While I consider myself fairly progressive in my opinions, I still am somewhat too much of a redneck to trust the government with a single=payer system, but thought this was an interesting point nonetheless. Jenkins … noted that if health care was guaranteed through government funding there would be no need for malpractice suits and settlements. … While I remain unconvinced of the single payer option, Geri Jenkins spoke well for her cause. However in the end there are many others ways to create a medical liability system that is just for patients and physicians without the government running all of healthcare.” (10/10/08)
