“Some say the eyes are the window to the soul, but an Australian medical researcher says they are the window to the heart and beyond. Tien Wong of the Center for Eye Research Australia at the University of Melbourne has shown in several large-scale studies that abnormalities of the blood vessels in the retina can be used to predict patients’ risk for diabetes, hypertension (or high blood pressure), stroke and heart disease. These four disorders are some of the most common causes of death, hospitalization and disability in the developed world. But the ability to predict them is limited.” (02/06/06)

An interest in the environment seems to be effected by the Maslow’s Hirarchy of human needs. As people become economically and physically secure they (can psychologically) worry about the environment.

Hey Tom, good going with this site. Did you see my email about the creative URL-shrinker?
    If not I’ll re-send.

Anyway, one of the great Libertarians who has sadly passed on from this world was a guy
named Harry Reid. Harry and I got along instantly (which surprised me until I understood
that Harry Reid got along with practically EVERYONE instantly, a trait shared by precious-
few Libertarians!) Harry would have the best parties — all to promote liberty and freedom –
    on the 8th, 18th, and 28th of each month at 8pm. His July 4th & Mayday-death-of-socialism
goat roasts are still the stuff of legend for Florida partyers, and Harry’s ideas still live.

http://www.chaospark.com/ and especially his responses to the Greens still speak to me, I
hope you’ll devote an entire blog entry to Harry’s method of responding to the Greens. It
tended to attract the Green rank & file as much as it infuriated their Watermelon leaders…
