The Tenth Plank: The NEA

History, as we all know, has constantly and consistently repeated itself throughout the centuries of mankind. Many would say that our “leaders” usually fail to heed its warnings. Or do they? I believe it is at least possible if not probable that our policy and law makers have not only learned from history, and have not only understood the failures of the past, but have now learned how to succeed where there was once failure.
From the Pharaohs of Egypt to the Roman Empire, and from Stalin to today, governments have sought to enslave those under its rule. Sometimes using obvious despotism such as Hitler’s Concentration Camps, other times utilizing the subtle tyranny of political correctness we face today, governments have effectively used these and other tactics in search of the Omnipotent State. In America today, the most dangerous vehicle used for this quest is the government education system.
-
“When an opponent declares, ‘I will not come over to your side,’ I calmly say, “Your child belongs to us already… What are you? You will pass on. Your descendants, however, now stand in the new camp. In a short time they will know nothing else but this new community.”
- Adolf Hitler
As evidenced by this quote, Hitler knew the key was not to convert his peers to his beliefs, but to instill those beliefs into the fertile minds of the youth. Berit Kjos explains it thusly in his piece titled The Nazi Model For Outcome-Based Education:
-
“That propaganda and indoctrination were two of the cornerstones of Nazi education is no secret. Hitler’s goal was National Socialism, a fascist state that would subdue the world. Learning his lessons from Soviet revolutionaries, he knew that only cloaked promises and misleading visions could win the support of the unsuspecting masses — and build a compliant army of young radicals. That America’s educational and political leaders would stoop to the same low standard has remained hidden from the general public. That their aim is global socialism with cradle-to-grave surveillance is angrily denied by the trained and trusted guardians of our children’s minds.”
So who are the guardians? By far the biggest and most influential in the education system outside the Department of Education is the National Education Association or better known as the “Teachers Union”. At the 2002 NEA Annual Meeting and Representative Assembly, new president-elect Reg Weaver said, “We must work within an environment that recognizes that we are one in the fight for a quality public education for all students… We must never forget or underestimate the fact that NEA’s strength, influence, and future is in our numbers.” Not only do they already have huge numbers and extraordinary influence - especially on the left, but also they seek to gain more.
From the NEA website: During the morning business session, delegates adopted a new business item directing the NEA to form a committee on early childhood education. The committee will prepare a report for the Board of Directors that analyzes whether NEA should attempt to organize early childhood employees. “There’s a potential for membership out there,” said Patricia Reeves of Tennessee. “There’s so much need for people who work in the early childhood field to be organized, [especially] in public schools where early childhood programs were added later and people are not members of the Association.”
Translation: Bring those who are entrusted with the care of the youngest among us into our camp. The earlier we begin to mold these emerging minds, the easier it will be to shape our society into the collectivist utopia we so greatly desire. Of course we will say it is all “for the children” and it is your “patriotic duty”, and who does not want to be patriotic and help children?
Of course anyone who analyzes the facts concerning education can only come to the conclusion that the system is broken and the NEA - with its government cronies at the DoE - not only can’t fix it, but don’t want it fixed. Moreover, many of us would also say that the woes were brought about by design. Maybe not by the average teacher out there because I believe that many, and perhaps most, are good people and really, truly want to help the children. But there are those who would further the power of the “education establishment” at any cost, and the government is all too eager to help facilitate this goal. In fact it is the government that wants it most.
Social Engineering
The “three R’s” used to be reading, writing and arithmetic, and they served this nation well when schools actually focused on teaching them. But now they have been replaced by a mĂ©lange of “multicultural” and “diversity” programs designed to abolish the individual in favor of the new model of the Collectivist State. No longer is individual Liberty and Free Enterprise important in the eyes of our government educators, and our young are taught that they cannot survive on their own, but must cuddle warm and secure in the loving arms of big government. They are taught that the evil capitalist only desires to oppress and exploit everything from the environment to the elderly; that they will brainwash you with their evil advertising, forcing you to become obese by eating too many Big Mac’s and super size fries. They learn they have no control over or responsibility for their actions and if they are not careful they will fall prey to the corporate voodoo doll of greed. They are taught that our Founders were not brave men who stood up to tyranny and founded a nation based on laws not of men, but based on Liberty and personal responsibility. Our children are taught instead that America’s founders were slave owners only worthy of our scorn. They are taught that our Constitution is an archaic relic from some by-gone era eons ago, and that it simply does not apply in our modern global village. They are taught that private ownership of guns is not only not needed, but that those who still seek to own them are dangerous people with a propensity for violence. They are taught that there is no intelligent design of our world, but that we are an accident of nature that slithered out of a gene pool of slime, when in fact NEITHER hypothesis can be proven as fact. They are taught that mankind is causing the world to warm and we will ultimately destroy this planet if not stopped.
I could go on but I believe I have made my point. The fact is that government educators are more interested in molding and shaping future minds into the collective than in teaching children to think freely for themselves. Of course there are others involved in this push for pantheistic oneness and global bliss and their goals are nothing new. Former secretary of the Educational Policies Commission, as well as one time leader of the NEA William Carr wrote in 1947, “The psychological foundations for wider loyalties must be laid…. Teach those attitudes which will result ultimately in the creation of a world citizenship and world government… we can and should teach those skills and attitudes which will help to create a society in which world citizenship is possible.” (”On the Waging of Peace”, NEA Journal, October 1947; 496.)
Following the advice of Carr and others our schools at every level have become nothing more than indoctrination centers for leftist propaganda under the despicable guise of “diversity.” The new thought police preach the virtuous new religions of tolerance and multiculturalism, but the only tolerance they accept is the tolerance to believe and think the way they say you should. Any deviation form their perfect little mold and you suddenly find yourself in the category they deem as “insensitive” or even worse “offensive,” and surely cannot be allowed. You have the right to agree with them, but if you do not, kindly keep your damn cakehole shut or we will put you in sensitivity class. God help you if you are a white Christian male, there is no room for you in Diversity University.
In our Socialist Utopia there are no absolutes such as Liberty, or the right to property. All is subject to the whims of society and what is best for the collective. Fact based education has been replaced with “outcome” based curriculum where 2+2 does not necessarily have to equal 4, but what matters most is how the answer 4 “makes you feel.” And if they think your child doesn’t “feel the right way”, they can slap a bogus ADHD diagnosis on him and drug the crap out of him. Just be sure he attends their D.A.R.E program and all will be OK.
I am actually glad I do not have children in this day and time, but if I did, one thing I do know is that they would NOT be in government school. I don’t care what it would take, but I would find a way to put them in a private school or home school them myself. While there is much talk about “parental choice” and things like “vouchers” or “Charter Schools”, as long as government has a hand in education there will always be the proverbial strings attached. For example, The Carolina Journal reported that a recent NEA resolution on “nontraditional” schools states, “When concepts such as charter schools and other nontraditional school options are proposed, all affected public education employees must be directly involved in the design, implementation, and governance of these programs.”
Translation: We cannot control these programs, and therefore cannot control those minds, so we must do everything we can do to regain this control.
A government controlled education system is incapable of educating students to be able to control the government. This is why the NEA is so opposed to home schooling of any type and seeks to bring home schoolers under the control of state boards of education. They state, “When home schooling occurs, students enrolled must meet all state requirements. Instruction should be by persons who are licensed by the appropriate licensure agency, and a curriculum approved by the state department of education should be used. The Association believes that home-schooled students should not participate in any extracurricular activities in public schools.”
Not only do they not want home schooled students on public school property, they believe that “Public school property is treated not as public property, but as exclusive property of the public schools. The association believes that closed public school buildings should be sold or leased only to those organizations that do not provide direct educational services to students and/or are not in direct competition with the public schools. Since the association believes that voucher plans, tuition tax credits, or other funding arrangements that use tax monies to subsidize pre-K through the 12th grade in private schools can undermine public education, the NEA clearly believes that opportunities to provide direct instruction outside public schools should be limited to those who do not need to rely on tax credits, vouchers, and the like. Nevertheless, the NEA states in resolution A-24 that the availability of such tax credits, vouchers, or other funding mechanisms that use tax monies will weaken the wall between church and state, and cause racial, economic, and social segregation of students.”
They have balls to complain about the separation of church and state when in my opinion they are creating a new church of globalist drones indoctrinated in their religion of collectivist Marxism. What we really need is a separation of school and state where parents take responsibility for the education of their children instead of farming them out to the government schools.
