Why am I doing this?

“It’s now been almost three months since I resumed duties as a regular healthcare columnist in this space, and I have to say it feels like I’m writing in a vacuum. I’ve consistently been posting about how various permutations of statism and coercion might be used to help bridge the gap (between this horrendous present condition of medicine and wellness, and a sane approach, based on voluntarism, self-responsibility and common sense, that actually delivers on its promises). … I sit here before this keyboard, once more attempting to find a way to reach the alleged audience of this website, with something provoking more than the knee-jerk ’socialism bad, freedom good’ replies I got from most of the few commenters thus far. I guess I should reveal my own ‘agenda’ here. … I’ve taken on this quest … under the delusion that there really IS another path to take in seeking to “reform healthcare.’” (04/27/07)
