DVD Release: Healing Cancer

HealingCancerDvd.com

“A new label from Cinema Libre Studio for films that analyze how we co-exist with our planet, featuring films that examine the environment, health, ecology and sustainability. The DVD is divided into two parts. Part 1, ‘Curing Cancer,’ deals with the failings of conventional cancer treatments and shows how conventional medicine wildly — and deceptively — exaggerates the benefits of treatments, while minimizing the risks. … Part 2, ‘Healing Cancer,’ shows how cancer can be successfully healed with dietary treatments and natural supplementation. … It also discusses supplementation and why attitude is important in reversing not only cancer, but any disease. Healing Cancer goes on sale May 20th and will sell for $19.95.” (posted 05/13/08)

Need free or low-cost health insurance?

Health News Digest

“Of the 47 million uninsured in the U.S., it’s estimated that nearly 30 percent are eligible for free or low-cost government programs but are not aware of them or signed up. The nonprofit Foundation for Health Coverage Education has launched the ‘Coverage For All’ campaign to educate the uninsured about their health coverage options. If you or someone you know needs health coverage, here are three simple, free resources you have to find out if you are eligible.” [editor’s note: While we do not endorse this “coverage” pathway for everyone, it may be well worth considering for some among our readership - SAT] (04/12/08)

Presidential Health Freedom Questionnaire

American Assn for Health Freedom

“You might remember us talking about our Questionnaire for Presidential Candidates during the summer. In August 2007, AAHF and our PAC contacted Presidential candidates and asked them to respond the following questions. We have already received 8 questionnaires and have met with several major campaigns (either in person or via call). The health freedom community knows where Republican candidate, Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) stands on health freedom as he’s been a tireless champion on our issues, but what about the rest? We developed 7 probing questions …” [editor’s note: They promise to post the answers soon; this is (and will be) a must read for free market and/or integrative medicine advocates - SAT] (posted 12/14/07)

Who’s the Worst Nanny of 2007?

Center for Consumer Freedom

“The Center for Consumer Freedom is handing out its annual Nanny Awards, and we want you to vote for the worst food cop of 2007. The competition is fierce. Vying for the title: Overzealous state legislators pushing bans on common food ingredients; health officials prohibiting full-grown adults from eating dessert; prominent food activists caught in acts of rank hypocrisy; and animal-rights fanatics using the force of law to make food companies conform to their radical anti-meat dogmas.” (posted 12/11/07)

ACTION ITEM: Compounding bill update

American Association for Health Freedom

“When the American Association for Health Freedom first heard rumblings in the spring about a compounding bill being written by Senator Edward Kennedy (D-MA) … we knew we could have a battle on our hands. … We then got a look at the so-called Safe Drug Compounding Act of 2007 and we knew it was a battle that we would need to win. … When AAHF went in representing patients and practitioners, we were able to have a positive influence in blocking this bad legislation (Click here to read more about the bill.). Among other things, the so-called Safe Drug Compounding Act of 2007 would give the Food and Drug Administration the power to: * Broadly eliminate the availability of many critical, commonly compounded medications that many patients rely on, such as bioidentical hormones for women, hospice care treatments for the terminally ill and customized medicines for children. * Determine when compounded medicines are needed — a decision that has always been and should always be made by doctors. * Restrict the compounded medications your doctor can prescribe even if he or she determines you need them.” (posted 12/04/07)

New resource: Online consumer health guide on nutritional deficiencies caused by prescription drugs

News Target

“NewsTarget.com, a leading natural health news and information site, has launched NewsTarget DrugWatch(TM), a free online resource that reveals the nutritional deficiencies caused by over 540 brand-name prescription drugs. The pages are provided free of charge as a service to enhance the health and safety of consumers. All prescription drugs have unintended side effects, and many drugs deplete the body of essential nutrients. Today, most consumers are not being told about these drug-induced nutritional deficiencies, and they continue taking pharmaceuticals without knowing they are often leaving their body in a dangerous state of nutrient depletion that can lead to chronic degenerative disease.”

Dr. Stool

This is an interesting little book … each page is almost completely hilarious (if you like, um, “bathroom humor”), although the intention is also to impart health info. (posted 08/15/07)
