ISIL Activities for 2008

— July 10-12, 2008 —
ISIL's Laissez Faire Books will be the official bookstore of Mark Skousen's annual FreedomFest
which is being held this year at Bally's Paris Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada (July 10-12, 2008). The Laissez Faire Books tables will present a wide, not to mention delectible, selection
of books and DVDs for you.
FreedomFest 2008 is featuring quite a smorgasbord of top-name speakers, including Nathaniel Branden, ISIL's
own Ken Schoolland, and Manuel (Muso) Ayau – founder of Guatemala's famous free-market Universidad Francisco
Marroquin – and winner of ISIL's Freedom Torch medal (which was presented to him at the ISIL Puerto Vallarta conference in 2002).
The event will also feature Congressman Ron Paul, and Doug Casey (no one beats
up on the statists quite like Doug). There are a total of 77 other speakers – and as an added bonus there are some rather ferociously entertaining and enlightening
debates you won't want to miss.
We have also arranged for book signings with many of the speakers and authors.
PS: ISIL has arranged with FreedomFest for the premiere showing of The Singing Revolution movie – the amazing story of how the Estonians sang their way to freedom
from Soviet domination. For more information on this exciting event go to the FreedomFest website
You can register by e-mail: tami[at]freedomfest.com or by phone: 1-866-266-5101
US Libertarian Party National Convention
Laissez Faire Books will have a booth at the LP National Convention. This
will be the LP's presidential nominating convention so attendance is expected to be high – in the 1000 person range. We will be promoting both ISIL and Laissez
Faire Books.
See you there.
Liberty English Camps
Instead of our usual world conference this year, we are providing financial support for Liberty English Camps in Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia,
Ghana, (former Soviet) Georgia – and Azerbaijan (the latter depending upon the availability of funding).
The mission of the camps is to support and assist organizations and individuals (including mostly students) in countries that are recovering from
tyranny and attempting to develop the institutions of free societies and learn entrepreneurial skills.
- Ghana –This year will be the first for a Liberty English Camp in Ghana, West Africa. The camp will be held
3-9 August 2008 at St. Augustine's School in Cape Coast, 250 km west of Accra. The event is being organized jointly by the Language of Liberty Institute
and the African Youth Peace Call (AYPC). AYPC's mission is to educate young Africans about classical-liberal philosophy and
to encourage entrepreneurship in Africa.
- Poland –This year will also be the first for a Liberty English Camp in Poland. It will be held at a
picturesque resort "Ponikiew" in the Beskid mountains in southern Poland, near the town of Wadowice. The dates are 7-12 September, 2008. The event is being organized
jointly by Language of Liberty Institute and KoLiber
a Polish association of young students and business people dedicated to promoting classical liberal ideas and values.
- Slovakia – The second annual Liberty English Camp in Slovakia will be held
20-27 June 2008 in a resort area near the Low Tatras, a scenic mountain range near the border of Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Poland. The venue will be the Hotel
Piatrová, located just outside the town of Vrutky, a short distance east of Zilina. The event is being organized jointly by Language of Liberty Institute and INESS,
a Slovak thinktank that aims to increase public awareness of free-market principles and the effect of government action on the market.
- Lithuania – The Lithuanian camp, dating back over a decade, was the first of the Liberty English Camps. It is
currently being run by ISIL Lithuanian Rep Virgis Daukas (with assistance from the Lithuanian Free Market Institute).
It will be held at the Jovariskes resort near Trakai (about 30 km from Vilnius). The dates run from July 2nd to 8th. The event will draw students from Lithuania, Belarus,
and Estonia.
- Georgia – The second annual camp in (former Soviet) Georgia is hosted this year by Paata Sheshelidze of the
New Economic School in Tbilisi. More data on this camp in a few days.

We encourage you to help support these camps through donations to the ISIL Scholarship Fund. The camps typically attract significant numbers
of bright and highly motivated young people who are devoted to learning libertarian principles and keen on introducing the ideas into their cultures. They are very
likely to be the leaders of tomorrow, so your investment in these camps may well reap rich dividends in a peaceful and prosperous future.
Many of the camps require funding well in advance so that arrangements may be made for facilities – so there is some urgency in providing support as soon as possible.
ISIL is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt educational foundation so your donations (in the USA) are tax deductible.
