- Rebellion is easy, just get off your arse and shout "BUGGER OFF"

- "My name is Phil and I'm one of the many disgruntled
British smokers being persecuted by the unfair and unjustifiable
smoking bans that are spreading across the globe. Prior to the UK
ban, I lived my life with my head buried in the sand, too busy
either working or having a bloody good time down the pub.
But that all changed on July 1st with the introduction of the
English smoking ban. Not only am I made to feel like a criminal and
leper in my own country, but worse still my social life was reduced
to zero. On the plus side however, this ban has opened my eyes to
the far wider issue of government interference in every aspect of
our lives."
- Cuéntame cómo pasó/Spaniards love Franco-era TV series
Source: Yahoo!/Miss Liberty
Country: Spain
- The current undisputed king of prime time TV in Spain is "Cuéntame cómo pasó" (Tell Me How It Happened), a series about a family living under the dictatorship of General Francisco Franco in the 1960s and 1970s. The show tells what middle-class life was like in the midst of rampant police brutality and authoritarian rule. (07/13/02) The Yahoo! news item formerly linked to has disappeared from the Web (no archive), but the series has not! We now link to the official portal of the series (in Spanish). More about it on YouTube, in the IMDb and the Spanish Wikipedia.
