The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals dismissed a challenge to the 'assault weapons' ban for lack of standing, because "the Second Amendment does not confer an individual right to own or possess arms." Among their footnote citations: the now thoroughly discredited "Gun Control, A Historical Overview," by Michael Bellesilles. (12/06/02)
