- In the spirit of Frederick Bastiat, a 19-century satirist and free market phosopher, the International Policy Network (IPN) has created the Bastiat Prize. The main prize will be awarded to a writer who through his/her published writing has promoted economic liberty, the rule of law, and free market ideals, especially in a developing country, where these principles are often difficult to uphold.
