Since April of 2003, ISIL rep Dr. Khalil Ahmad of Lahore, Pakistan has been in the process of creating a new Pakistani classical-liberal
think tank. According to Dr. Ahmad, the new Alternate Solutions Institute has been formed to "promote the ideals of limited government and the rule of law."
Since its launch, Dr. Ahmad and his associates have already initiated public-policy studies on a number of issues, including the promotion of free trade – and a
program to challenge public monopolies in the production and distribution of electricity. He has also worked with ISIL director Ken Schoolland regarding translation and
publication of an Urdu edition of The Adventures of Jonathan Gullible.
Dr. Ahmad expresses heartfelt thanks to Irshad Ameen for his tireless efforts in getting the book to press.
Dr. Ahmad has been engaged in a regular dialogue with the people at ISIL and Free-Market.net for several years, and states that his movement has been nurtured by ISIL/FMN.
"ISIL is the most useful site for people like me who have just started studying Libertarianism. I have downloaded many articles/pamphlets from its Intellectual
Resources section, and have printed, photocopied and distributed them for my friends, colleagues and students."
