         Palestinians say they have two main enemies. Number 1, of course is Israel. But America is a close second, because of our continued strong financial and military support for Israel.

         And the Palestinian Authority is just one of dozens of groups now encouraging Arabs to murder Americans.

• According to Whistleblower magazine, over 50% of young men in Egypt now say they would willingly kill American "infidels."

• Newsweek reports that since the beginning of the War on Terror, mosques in Saudi Arabia preaching rabid anti-Americanism have increased from 20% to "at least 75%."

• The San Jose Mercury News says that months after 9/11, one-third of the speakers at San Jose's largest mosque were expressing support for Osama bin Laden.

  "If a kafir person (non-believer) goes into a Muslim country, he is like a cow. Anybody can take him. If a kafir is walking by and you catch him, he's booty. You can sell him in the market... . if Muslims cannot take them, you just kill them. It's OK." ("Bio-chem suits found in London mosque," WorldNetDaily, 1-26-03)

         Worldwide, there are likely tens of millions of Muslims who want to destroy America.

         As an open society, America is extremely vulnerable to terrorist attacks. There are hundreds of ways that terrorists can attack us — ranging from sniper attacks ... to poisoning our food supplies ... to suicide bombings ... to attacks with biological, chemical, and radiological or nuclear weapons.

• Iran's fundamentalist Islamic regime has tons of biological and chemical weapons, and may even have "suitcase nukes" purchased from Russia.

• Before its collapse, the former Soviet Union had over 60,000 scientists working full time to produce biological and chemical weapons. According to K. Alibekov, the highest-ranking defector from the Soviet Union's biological-weapons program:

  "Biopreparat developed two thousand strains of anthrax alone, as well as bomb- and missile-ready versions of smallpox, the hemorrhagic fever, Marburg plague, and many more. They produced and replenished ready stockpiles of the most important agents, maintaining a 4,500-metric ton supply of anthrax at all times."

  Where are these tons of Soviet biological and chemical weapons now? No one knows.

         Would terrorists use these weapons on the U.S.? Most experts agree, "in a heartbeat." Health and Human Services Director Tommy Thompson warns, "a biological terrorist attack that could kill thousands is inevitable."

         The effects of the 9/11 attack were severe. Since 9/11 tourism (the largest industry in the world) is off by up to 40%. Airlines, hotels and restaurants (particularly in destination cities like New York and San Francisco) have been devastated, and nearly all major U.S. airlines now face bankruptcy. Over 2.1 million people have lost their jobs since 9/11.

         Immediately after 9/11, tight border security created cargo backups that lasted for weeks, and dozens of auto plants and other factories were forced to close for months. The stock markets were closed for several days, crime around the site of the World Trade Center skyrocketed, hundreds of business fled New York — plunging the economy of the entire city in depression — and tens of thousands of people left New York for good.

         The effects of the next major terrorist attack will be much worse. It will shatter what little calm has been restored since 9/11 and it will demonstrate despite billions spent on homeland security since 9/11, it's impossible to prevent all attacks by suicidal terrorists.

         The most likely targets are again New York City (our financial capital) and Washington, D.C. (our political capital) — closely followed by Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Chicago.

         Here is what you can expect if New York is hit by a radiological or biological weapon:

• The stock markets will be closed for weeks or longer.

• Thousands will flee most major cities in fear and panic.

• Draconian security will be imposed at airports, ports, and borders — disrupting commerce nationwide — including deliveries of food and medicines.

• Prescription medicines you depend upon to maintain your health or keep you alive may be unavailable for weeks or longer.

• Martial law will almost certainly be imposed in a matter of hours, and most people will find it impossible to fly, leave the country, or even to cross a state border.

• Wage and price controls will be imposed to prevent prices from skyrocketing, but they will fail. The price of gasoline, heating oil, and food will soar, or there will be severe shortages.

• Exchange controls will be imposed, preventing you from moving money outside the country.

• Real estate prices will plummet except for exurban and rural areas where thousands will flee to, and the economy will be in depression.

         It won't even take a major terrorist attack to radically change your life. According to Homeland Security, a "Red Alert" — which could be imposed at any time based upon the threat of a major attack — would mean all non-essential workers will be ordered to stay at home. Police and the military will take control of the highways and airports.

         Airlines and highways may be shut down, and travelers will probably be stuck for days, weeks or longer wherever they happen to be. If you are caught on the streets, you would be subject to immediate arrest and could even be shot.

         What if there is a biological or chemical attack? If that happens anywhere in the U.S., America will be under martial law within a matter of hours. Under recently-passed emergency legislation including the Patriot Act and Homeland Security Act, the Federal Emergency Management Agency and police will assume control of fuel supplies, power, medicines, and transportation.

         If you are suspected of having been exposed to either disease or radiation or if you live in an area that has been exposed, you will either be ordered to "shelter in place" or be relocated to an emergency center — such as military barracks or a tent city until the threat passes.

         Under the Medical Emergency Health Powers Act (MEHPA), already enacted by 14 states and pending in many more, you and your family could be quarantined indefinitely in a military camp.

Families unable to take care of themselves by providing their own food and water, and protecting their property from looters, are most likely to be relocated to emergency centers.
